The first ski lift at Abetone was built in 1937. It was a sledge lift which climbed up from Villa Imperatori to Selletta. This sledge lift has a special place in the hearts of old Tuscan skiers to the extent that the lift is remembered as ‘Lo Slittone’ – the big sledge.

Slittovia Abetone still manages the ski lift to Selletta, the link for the other Abetone slopes and the whole ski area which reaches as far as neighbouring Valdiluce today. Slopes features make them suitable for children and families; for firsts steps in the snow, but also to walk through paths that wind among beeches and firs.

But Selletta is not only winter! Is a wonderful place where you can spend, in summer, enchanting days immersed in the green, looking for the highest peaks of Tuscan Emilian Appenine.
